Bronx Buffalo page 2

A comic featuring a wild herd of buffalo stretching to the horizon, William Hornaday after firing a rifle and preparing a taxidermy bison, a large pile of buffalo skulls with two men posing with the immense collection, bison being moved in small cages, and a father and daughter enjoying the buffalo at the Bronx Zoo.

Cynics might say that humans are the most destructive force on our planet, and although there is truth to that I think it's important to realize that we are the only destructive force that can recognize our destruction and change our course. Efforts of people like William Hornaday have helped curb some of our most destructive actions as a species and I have faith that they will for as long has humanity is around. The Wildlife Conservation Society is still here and active in the Bronx, and are still leading efforts to save species from the brink of extinction. You can learn more about their work at wcs.org

I would also like to tell you that you can visit the bison at the Bronx Zoo today, but alas due to the COVID-19 pandemic they will be closed for a little while longer. Be sure to check their website (bronxzoo.com) to see when they are able to be safely open to guests once again.
